GOD'S URGING
For many years, I have kept journals where I have written thoughts, asked questions, expressed feelings, and sought God's insight. I have sought to know and understand life and the nature of God's action upon it. Throughout these years, there has been one constant. It has been God's urging that I believe in Him and His love for me and for you. He has called upon me to turn to Him, come to Him, and rest in Him.
A CLEARER CALL
At this time in my life, believing in God and turning to Him has a stronger mandate than ever before. It is a clearer call to surrender my daily life to Him. God has turned me to examine, study, meditate upon and be instructed in His written Word, the Holy Bible. It is His way of drawing me to learn about who He is in a deeper way: how He wishes to show His love for us and what He requires of us in order to have relationship with Him. At the same time, He is providing me with knowledge by His Spirit in how to surrender my daily life: my calendar, my activities, and choices to Him. The awareness of His desire to be a daily companion who participates in the little things of each day grows stronger in me. Through this daily encounter, He is giving gentle and loving impulse to make choices that illustrate the "narrow way" that must be lived in order to be able to abide with Him continually.
COMING CHANGE
There are many changes on the horizon, some of which I have already begun, such as cutting off certain television programs or internet activity. I am learning that if I truly wish to abide in His presence, experiencing His peace and joy throughout my day, I must not participate in or do what He would not. This is one of the hardest times of my life. As I release one thing, He shows me another. With each one, I feel His presence drawing nearer. Letting go of the things of this world is not easy and it is not understood by many but the reward is great. I have a long way to go, I know. But He is kind and patient and a Helper and Teacher through this process.
I hope as I review my years of journals that I will be able to share from these and from my time in the Bible, things that may bless others who might want to learn, as I am learning, how to walk closely with Him every day.
