ARTIST
I love art. I love viewing it and creating it. From as far back as I can remember, I have done artwork. Because I have had no training as an artist, my work would probably be considered a form of Folk Art. I had the privilege of owning and managing both a wholesale art business and retail art gallery with my first husband, Fred Babb, who became nationally known for his artistic whimsical commentary on art. Our gallery, What Iz Art, in Cambria, CA was a place of joy and humor, including wonderful work by several fine artists. Since closing that gallery and our wholesale business, Fred's work is now available through his son, Chris, and can still be purchased at www.fredbabb.com. I was proud to be part of the creation of both of those businesses.
My art can be viewed here on this site, purchased through the Gift Store page and in the pages of my book, The Way Home. I have also illustrated many of the CD covers for my husband's music CD's which are available through our music website. To learn more about my music, visit my Singer page.
Art has been a priority for me my entire life and is something I believe that God has designed as a means through which I can connect to Him and to others about Him. The central themes for the majority of my artwork are: Jesus, the love of God, and the beauty of God's creation. I like to communicate the relationship between God and His children as well as the relationship we, as His children, should have with each other if we are living according to His design of us. Here are some examples of my work. I work with water color pencils and micron pens. I love the softness they create. It best reflects the gentle nature of God. Prints of these images and others like them are available on the Gift Store page.
